Taiwan: MOFA To Set Up Dedicated Allies Trade Promotion Office
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, (MOFA) Lin announced the opening ceremony of an Eswatini Cultural Festival on March 23 in New Taipei City. The event was organised by Leezen, an organic food chain based in Taipei City.
During his opening remarks, Lin said Leezen has introduced food products from Eswatini after the firm took part in an MOFA-organised trade delegation to the African ally last July. He praised the cultural event as a great example of private sector response to the DAPP initiative.
To further support the MOFA project, Leezen also set up a company to trade with allied nations, the minister said, adding that more than ten other firms have pledged to participate. He also praised the cultural event as another example of private sector commitment to diplomatic allies.
The minister stressed that the MOFA has integrated resources to implement eight flagship projects under its integrated diplomacy approach to engender prosperity for allies and like-minded partners.
This commitment is fully reflected in the robust ties between Taiwan and Eswatini, especially in areas such as agriculture, education, medical care and female empowerment, he added.
In particular, the minister expects the Taiwan Industrial Innovation Park currently under construction in Eswatini to attract further investment from Taiwan to advance mutual prosperity and sustainable development.
