Drone Enters Estonia From Russia, Hits Power Plant Chimney

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The incident occurred at 03:43 on Wednesday, March 25, and no one was injured, Ukrinform reports, citing ERR.

The drone crossed into Estonia from Russian airspace. Bomb disposal experts from the Rescue Board are working at the scene, while the Prosecutor's Office is overseeing the case, which is being investigated by the Internal Security Service (ISS).

"According to current information, the drone was not directed at Estonia. Initial actions are currently being taken, the investigation will clarify the more specific circumstances," State Prosecutor General Astrid Asi said.

Generator Enefit Power says there is no immediate damage to the power plant, while the incident will not have a significant impact on the Estonian electricity system.

The report states that Ukraine attacked the port of Ust-Luga with drones on the night of March 24-25. Ukrainian drone attacks were reported in the Leningrad region, where Ust-Luga lies.

"These are the effects of Russia's full-scale war of aggression. We can assume that we will see more such incidents," said Margo Palloson, the ISS director general.

Ukrinform reported earlier that Russia's Ust-Luga port was attacked by drones overnight on March 25, sparking a fire. Local authorities claimed that 56 UAVs were shot down over the Leningrad region that night.
