Tal Slemrod
- Associate Professor of Special Education, California State University, Chico
I earned my doctorate at the University of Washington in 2014 and have since developed a research program that leverages emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), to advance implementation science in inclusive education. In recognition for this work, I am honored to have received the California State University Chico's Annual Outstanding Professor Award (2022), a distinction for which I was nominated by my colleagues, students, and department chair. This recognition reflects my dedication to, research, leadership, creative activity, teaching, and service. In addition to my role as an Associate Professor in the School of Education, I am also the founder and coordinator of the Educational Technology & Distance Learning graduate certificate program at California State University, Chico.
Over the course of my career, I have secured more than $15 million in funding to support students, education research, and development in emerging and inclusive education technology. My current research centers on the responsible use of artificial intelligence, with a focus on designing and discovering how AI-powered systems supplement human supports within professional development and implementation science frameworks, that increase access to inclusive STEM education curricula.
