Oman Announces Eid Al Fitr Holiday For Public, Private Sector Employees

Oman has announced Eid Al Fitr holiday for public and private sector employees, the Sultanate's news agency said on Wednesday.
Sighting of the crescent moon for the month of Shawwal, which indicates when will eid start, will take place on Thursday March 19, in Oman, since the first day of the holy month of Ramadan there was February 19, unlike the UAE.
Recommended For YouThis year, employees in Oman will get a holiday from Thursday March 19, which corresponds to Ramadan 29, to Tuesday, March 24, giving residents a longe five-day break to celebrate the occasion.

In Oman, the public holiday for Eid Al Fitr officially starts on Ramadan 29 and lasts until Shawwal 3. And if the first day of either Eid Al Fitr or Eid Al Adha falls on a Friday, residents get an extra day off as compensation, as per decree 88/2022 determining the official holidays in the Gulf country.
