Several flights were cancelled or delayed due to the temporary partial closure of UAE airspace as a precaution amid evolving regional security circumstances. To ease passengers' anxiety during these exceptional situations, major UAE carriers issued refunds and rebooking options for those travelling through the UAE.

Assist stranded travellers

The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has also announced the resumption of flight operations at UAE airports to assist stranded travellers, with airlines to announce schedules to affected passengers and the relevant destinations.

The authority urges passengers whose flights have been impacted not to travel to airports until they have been contacted and notified of their flight timings and details by their respective airlines, in order to avoid congestion and ensure smooth processing.

The authority expressed its appreciation for passengers' cooperation, emphasising that adherence to the issued instructions plays a central role in facilitating procedures and maintaining orderly operations.

Emirates, Etihad repatriation flights

Emirates airline on Monday confirmed that it will begin operating a limited number of flights commencing today (Monday) evening.“We are accommodating customers with earlier bookings as a priority, and those who have been rebooked to travel on these limited flights will be contacted directly by Emirates,” the Dubai-based carrier said.

The airline clarified that all other flights remain suspended until further notice.

Etihad Airways also confirmed that some repatriation flights and cargo flights might operate in coordination with the UAE authorities. However, all scheduled flights remain suspended due to the military conflict between the US, Israel and Iran.
