Iran’s Top Security Official Rules Out Renewed US Negotiations

(MENAFN) Iranian authorities make clear on Monday that they will not enter negotiations with the United States, denying claims that Tehran had sought to restart diplomatic talks, as stated by reports.

Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, addresses rumors on X suggesting that Iran had initiated new discussions with Washington. Referring to reports claiming he attempted to resume talks through Oman, he asserts: “We will not negotiate with the US.”

In another post, Larijani responds directly to US President Donald Trump’s statements on Iran, criticizing him for leading the region into turmoil with what he calls “empty illusions.” He says: “He is now worried about further losses of American soldiers. With his own delusions, he has transformed the slogan ‘America First’ into ‘Israel First’ and sacrificed American troops for Israel’s lust for power.”

Larijani further accuses Trump of “making American soldiers and their families pay the price with new lies.”

The remarks come amid a joint US-Israeli military campaign launched on Saturday that has killed several senior Iranian officials, including Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Gulf countries, resulting in the deaths of three US service members and serious injuries to five others.
