Qatar Cancels Garangao Celebrations As Precautionary Measure
Doha, Qatar: The Ministry of Municipality announced that Garangao events scheduled for March 3 and 4 have been cancelled.
In a social media post, it said that this decision was taken in the interest of everyone's safety and in compliance with the issued precautionary directive.
"This decision stems from our responsibility to safeguard your well-being and in light of the prevailing circumstances," it added.

In a previous post, it added that activities at Beach 974 also have been cancelled until further notice.
The cherished Ramadan tradition, Garangao marks the midway point of the holy month of Ramadan and serves as a celebration and encouragement for children, rewarding them for fasting half of the holy month.
