Türkiye Advises Citizens in Iran to Stay Safe

(MENAFN) Türkiye on Saturday urged its citizens in Iran to remain in secure areas, avoid military zones and buildings, and limit outdoor activity following joint US-Israel attacks.

In a notice posted on the US-based social media platform X, the Turkish Embassy in Tehran recommended postponing non-essential travel to Iran, stressing that the security situation remains “sensitive.”

“Our citizens in Iran are advised to remain in secure areas, stay away from military zones and buildings, refrain from going outside, and those who plan to travel to Iran are advised to postpone their travel except in emergencies,” the notice stated.

The embassy also confirmed that the Türkiye-Iran land border crossings at Esendere, Kapikoy, and Gurbulak remain open, allowing Turkish nationals to return home by land. Citizens were encouraged to follow updates from official ministry channels and Türkiye’s missions in Iran.

The advisory follows the announcement of a joint US-Israel operation early Saturday, described as targeting “threats” from the Iranian regime. Iran condemned the strikes as military aggression, claiming they violated its sovereignty and breached Article 2(4) of the UN Charter.
