US Embassy in Oman Advises Americans to Shelter Amid Iran Tensions
(MENAFN) The US Embassy in Oman has instructed its staff and American citizens in the country to take shelter amid escalating military tensions with Iran.
“Due to ongoing activity outside of Muscat, the US Embassy in Oman has instructed staff to shelter-in-place (i.e., take cover),” the embassy said in a statement. “We recommend all Americans in Oman do the same until further notice.”
The advisory comes after drone attacks struck several Gulf nations, including Oman, following US and Israeli strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliatory actions by Tehran.
Oman has previously acted as a mediator in indirect nuclear talks between the US and Iran.
According to reports, Iran also confirmed the death of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and several senior officials in the joint attacks.
