Vietnam Implements Six New Laws on AI, Investment, Planning, Security

(MENAFN) Six new laws officially took effect in Vietnam on March 1, covering areas such as artificial intelligence, investment, planning, and the protection of state secrets, according to reports.

The regulations include the Law on Artificial Intelligence 2025, the Law on Oversight Activities of the National Assembly and People’s Councils 2025, the Law on Rehabilitation and Bankruptcy 2025, the revised Law on Investment 2025, the Law on Planning 2025, and the Law on Protection of State Secrets 2025.

Vietnam’s first AI law, adopted in December 2025, introduces a risk-based regulatory approach, mandates that AI-generated audio, images, and videos carry clear labels, and establishes incentives and testing frameworks to support the growth of the country’s AI sector.

The updated Law on Investment aims to enhance the business environment by eliminating 38 conditional business lines and allowing foreign investors to form project companies by first obtaining an Enterprise Registration Certificate, before securing an Investment Registration Certificate.
