A fire reportedly broke out today in Sharjah's Industrial area due to an 'electrical touch', the emirate's police revealed in a statement on Sunday, March 1.

The authority's civil defense teams reached on site and dealt with the blaze at a warehouse dedicated to storing electrical appliances and car parts in Industrial Zone 8.

The teams moved as soon as they received the report, where the fire was extinguished and controlled according to approved procedures, without recording any injuries.

The Sharjah Civil Defence Authority continued the cooling works. Fire crews have brought the fire completely under control, and are currently carrying out cooling operations in accordance with approved procedures.

Authorities clarified that preliminary inspection indicates that the cause of the fire is due to electrical contact, while teams complete cooling and follow up procedures according to their systems.
