Thailand Urges Restraint Over Situation in Middle East

(MENAFN) Thailand has declared it is tracking the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Middle East with deep alarm, as the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a dual statement Saturday calling for urgent de-escalation and cautioning its citizens abroad.

In the first statement, Bangkok appealed directly to all parties involved to halt the slide toward wider conflict, warning that continued hostilities risk undermining global peace and inflicting further suffering on civilian populations.

"We urge all the parties to prevent the conflict from further deterioration, thereby undermining international peace and security and affecting innocent civilians. Thailand reiterates the urgency of dialogue and diplomacy," the statement said.

A second advisory released the same day moved beyond diplomatic language and into direct public safety territory, strongly discouraging Thai nationals from traveling to the region unless circumstances are unavoidable.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs cited the increasingly volatile security landscape across the Middle East and the mounting risk that hostilities could spread and intensify, placing civilians — including Thai nationals — in direct danger.

The twin statements reflect growing anxiety among Southeast Asian governments as the conflict widens, with Thailand joining a chorus of nations urging all sides to step back from the brink and return to diplomatic engagement before the crisis spirals beyond control.
