Turkey Expresses Sorrow Over Deadly Plane Crash in Bolivia

(MENAFN) The Turkish Foreign Ministry expressed its sorrow on Saturday regarding the fatal plane crash that took place in Bolivia on Friday.

"We are deeply saddened by the plane crash that occurred yesterday in El Alto, Bolivia," the ministry stated.

The ministry also conveyed its sympathy to the families of those who perished in the "tragic accident" and extended wishes for a swift recovery to those who were injured.

Reports indicate that at least 15 people lost their lives and more than 30 sustained injuries when a Bolivian Air Force Hercules transport plane, believed to be carrying a load of newly printed currency, crashed onto a busy highway during an attempted landing amid adverse weather near the capital, La Paz.

Authorities on the ground explained that the military aircraft was trying to land at El Alto International Airport when it went off the runway and struck a nearby roadway.
