BAPS Mandir Closes, Dubai Exhibition Postponed After UAE Intercepts Iranian Missiles

The BAPS Hindu Mandir in Abu Dhabi closed for the rest of the day on Saturday, and a Dubai art exhibition was postponed after the UAE intercepted Iranian ballistic missiles targeting the country. In a statement on X, the Mandir said it would remain shut“in view of the current emergency and in alignment with national security advisories,” describing the move as a precautionary measure.

In Dubai, organisers of“Legacy of the UAE – A Celebration of Emirati Artistic Voices,” scheduled to be held at Dubai International Academic City (DIAC), Jumeirah, also announced a postponement.
“With the safety and well-being of our community foremost in mind, we have made the decision to postpone,” Team DIAC said.
Earlier in the day, the Ministry of Defence said UAE air defence systems had dealt“with high efficiency” with what it described as a“blatant attack” involving Iranian ballistic missiles. A number of missiles were successfully intercepted, authorities said, adding that the situation was under control.
Officials urged residents to rely on official sources for updates as tensions between Israel and Iran continued to escalate in the region.
Several Gulf countries were targeted by Iranian missiles on Saturday after Tehran pledged to retaliate against strikes by the US and Israel, bringing conflict to a part of the Arab world.
Kuwait, Qatar, the UAE, and Jordan, all of which have a US military presence, said they had intercepted the Iranian missiles.
