Photos Show Nobel Laureate James Watson at Epstein’s Residence
(MENAFN) Recently disclosed images connected to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein reportedly depict Nobel Prize-winning American scientist James Watson inside Epstein’s residence alongside several women, according to accounts published Tuesday.
Photographs obtained from case-related files and cited by reports show Watson — who passed away last year at the age of 97 — smiling in a reception area of Epstein’s New York mansion with three young women. The exact date of the images remains uncertain, though they are believed to have been taken sometime in the mid-to-late 2010s, years after Epstein had completed a prison sentence for a child sex offense.
One image reportedly captures Watson standing beside one of the women while holding a paper he authored on cancer and antioxidants.
Watson rose to international prominence alongside Francis H.C. Crick after the pair identified the double-helix structure of DNA — the molecule responsible for carrying genetic information and forming the basis of chromosomes. Their groundbreaking work earned them the 1962 Nobel Prize in Medicine.
In later years, however, Watson became a divisive figure due to remarks linking race and intelligence, assertions that were widely criticized by the scientific community. As a result, several of his honorary distinctions were revoked in 2019.
According to reported email exchanges from 2016 involving Epstein and American academic Noam Chomsky, the financier appeared to defend Watson’s controversial stance. In one message, Epstein claimed without evidence that "the test score gap amongst African Americans is well documented."
"James Watson had some of his private views made public and hence his dismissal from society. He told me that after one sentence he became an un-person. Making things better might require accepting some uncomfortable facts,” the email continued.
