Over 80% Of Military Aid To Ukraine Now Delivered Through NATO President's Office

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) This was stated by Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Ihor Zhovkva during a meeting with Boris Ruge, NATO Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs and Security Policy, Ukrinform reports, citing the press service of the President's Office.

“It is telling that more than 80% of all military support for Ukraine is now coordinated and delivered through NATO. It is important that this figure continues to grow,” Zhovkva said.

He noted the effectiveness of the Ramstein-format meeting held on February 12 at NATO headquarters in Brussels. Among its key outcomes were announcements of new contributions exceeding $500 million to the PURL program, as well as commitments to provide Ukraine with $38 billion in support this year.

“It is important to form new defense support packages based on Ukraine's clearly defined needs. We expect these packages to begin arriving as early as February 24,” Zhovkva emphasized.

The parties also discussed Ukraine's energy situation, the consequences of Russian attacks on energy infrastructure, and the need to strengthen air defense. Boris Ruge stressed the importance of jointly countering potential attempts by Russia to intensify attacks on Ukraine's energy sector.

As reported, following the February 12 meeting, partners within the Ukraine Defense Contact Group committed to providing $35 billion in new military assistance to Ukraine.
