According to the report, the issue of further defense support was discussed during a meeting between Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and Canadian Minister of National Defense David McGuinty. The Ukrainian side expressed gratitude to Canada for its consistent and effective support of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
The Ministry of Defense also highlighted Canada's contribution to the PURL initiative.
“Recent contributions under the program have been decisive in repelling massive enemy air attacks,” the ministry noted.
Ukraine also expects continued support from the program throughout this year.
Separately, the sides discussed an agreement to facilitate drone production and prospects for industrial cooperation between Ukrainian and Canadian governments and companies, particularly in the area of drone management.
Another important area of cooperation remains training Ukrainian servicemen, with a focus on saving lives.
