Khartoum Airport Receives 1St Domestic Flight Since Start Of War


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KHARTOUM, Feb 1 (KUNA) -- A flight from Port Sudan has landed at Khartoum International Airport on Sunday for the first time since the civil war broke out three years ago.
The arrival of the Sudan Airways (Sudanair) flight represents reopening of the airport, said Prime Minister Kamil El-Tayeb Idris, who was aboard the plane.
The airport is able to receive four flights simultaneously and Sudanese authorities expect it will open to international flights soon. (end)
