US, Russian Envoys Meet in Florida to Discuss Ukraine War Resolution
(MENAFN) US and Russian officials held talks on Saturday in Florida as part of Washington’s efforts to mediate a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine, according to US Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
In a statement on social media, Witkoff described the meetings with Russian Special Envoy Kirill Dmitriev as “productive and constructive” in advancing conflict resolution efforts.
Witkoff said he was part of the US delegation, which also included Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Jared Kushner, and White House senior adviser Josh Gruenbaum.
“We are encouraged by this meeting that Russia is working toward securing peace in Ukraine,” he added, while expressing appreciation for the leadership of President Donald Trump in pursuing what he called a durable and lasting peace.
