Doha, Qatar: Qatari national table tennis player Rasha Laghraibi has claimed the top spot in the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) world rankings for the Under-11 category, according to the January 2026 rankings, marking a significant achievement that reflects the remarkable progress of Qatari table tennis and underscores the strong international presence of national talents.

This well-earned rise comes on the back of the outstanding performances delivered by the national team player during her participation in the Youth Contender and Star Contender tournaments, part of the 31st edition of the Qatar International Table Tennis Championships series.

Rasha asserted herself decisively against an elite field of the world's top players in her age category, accumulating the ranking points that propelled her to the summit of the global standings.

President of the Qatar Table Tennis Association, Hamad Ahmed Al Hammadi praised the achievement secured by Rasha Laghraibi, expressing pride in what Rasha has achieved.

He said this accomplishment did not come by chance; rather, it is the result of sustained effort, substantial technical and administrative support, and genuine investment in the next generation.

He added that they will continue to work with full commitment to develop Qatari male and female players and to provide them with the best possible training environment, with the aim of producing champions capable of representing Qatar in the best manner and competing at the highest global levels.

He said their vision is clear, looking ahead to the 2030 Asian Games in Qatar, as well as the Olympic Games.
