Türkiye’s Stock Market Starts in Decline
(MENAFN) Türkiye's main stock index commenced the week on a downward trajectory on Monday, slipping 0.49% or 63.38 points to reach 12,929.33.
In contrast, on Friday, the BIST 100 index gained 1.1%, closing at a record peak of 12,992.71 points, accompanied by a daily trading volume of 181.6 billion liras ($4.18 billion).
By 9.50 am local time (0650GMT), the US dollar/Turkish lira exchange rate was 43.3825, the euro/lira measured 51.4855, and the British pound/lira reached 59.3325.
Meanwhile, the price of an ounce of gold stood at $5,109.9, and Brent crude oil was quoted at $65.55 per barrel.
