Faisali Stay Top As Hussein And Ramtha Claim Key Victories

(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Round 11 of the CFI Jordanian Pro League delivered emphatic victories for title contenders on Friday, as Hussein and Faisali both claimed important wins to maintain pressure at the top of the table.

Defending champions Hussein produced a dominant performance to defeat Jazira 4–0 at Al Hassan Stadium in Irbid, backed by strong home support. Aref Haj opened the scoring in the 18th minute, capitalising on confusion inside the box following a corner kick.

Hussein maintained their attacking momentum and doubled their advantage shortly before the break, with Yousef Abu Jalboush finishing confidently after a one-on-one situation in the 42nd minute.

The second half followed a similar pattern, with Hussein firmly in control. Mohammad Deeb added the third in the 66th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound after the Jazira goalkeeper failed to deal with a shot. In stoppage time, Abu Jalboush completed his brace with a powerful effort from inside the area to seal a comprehensive victory. The result lifted Hussein to 24 points in third place, while Jazira remained on 11 points.

In the other Friday fixture, league leaders Faisali edged Salt 2–1 at Amman International Stadium to consolidate their position at the top of the standings. The match was played at a slow tempo, with limited chances for both sides. Salt took the lead in the 43rd minute through Cheikhna Semega, who capitalised on a defensive mistake.

Faisali emerged with greater intent after the interval and were rewarded in the 71st minute when Ahmed Ersan converted a penalty kick to level the score. Ersan struck again from the spot in the 82nd minute, scoring a second penalty to secure all three points for the leaders. Faisali moved to 28 points, while Al Salt stayed fifth on 15 points.

On Saturday, Ramtha secured a vital 2–1 victory over Shabab Urdun at Al Hassan Stadium to remain firmly in the title race. Majd Zoubi gave Ramtha an early lead in the 18th minute, reacting quickest to a rebound after his initial effort struck the crossbar. Shabab Al Urdun responded after the break, with Abdullah Attar heading home the equaliser in the 67th minute.

Ramtha restored their advantage ten minutes from time through Moamen Saket, who curled a direct free kick into the net in the 82nd minute to seal the win. The victory kept Ramtha second in the standings, one point behind leaders Faisali, while Shabab Urdun stayed eighth on eight points.

The round will conclude on Sunday, with Baqa'a hosting Ahli, while Wihdat face Sama Sarhan.
