Anwar Ibrahim Begins Official Visit to Türkiye


(MENAFN) Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim landed at Esenboga Airport in Ankara for an official trip scheduled from Jan. 6–8, following an invitation from President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the National Defense Ministry announced Tuesday.

According to a post on NSosyal, National Defense Minister Yasar Guler greeted Anwar and his wife, Wan Azizah Ismail, upon their arrival.

In an earlier statement shared on his NSosyal account, Türkiye’s Communications Director Burhanettin Duran confirmed that the inaugural meeting of the Türkiye-Malaysia High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council will take place on Jan. 7.

Duran explained that multiple agreements are expected to be signed to reinforce the legal and institutional framework of bilateral ties between Türkiye and Malaysia.

He also noted that both regional and global matters will be part of the agenda during the discussions.
