J & K Assembly Budget Session To Begin On Feb 2

(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Srinagar- Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has summoned the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly to convene for its Budget Session beginning February 2, 2026, officials said.

The summon was issued by the Lieutenant Governor in exercise of powers vested under the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019. According to the order, the Assembly will meet at Jammu on Monday, February 2, 2026, at 10:00 am.

“I, Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, in exercise of the powers conferred upon me under Section 18(1) of the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganisation Act, 2019, do hereby summon the Legislative Assembly for the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir to meet at Jammu on Monday, the 2nd of February, 2026 at 10:00 A.M.,” the summon reads. A copy of the order is with the news agency Kashmir News Observer.

Officials said the Council of Ministers had recommended convening the Budget Session from February 2, following which the Lieutenant Governor issued the formal summon.
