Türkiye Achieves Record High Exports for 2025
(MENAFN) President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Saturday that Türkiye’s exports of goods and services in 2025 reached a historic peak of $396 billion.
He emphasized that Türkiye has emerged as Europe’s fourth-largest manufacturing hub and the 12th-largest globally, producing 1.5 million vehicles annually and generating more than $41 billion in automobile exports.
Erdogan highlighted defense and aviation as key sectors of national pride, noting Türkiye’s growing international recognition in these industries. He pointed to a recent agreement with Spain for the purchase of Türkiye’s domestically developed aircraft, Hurjet, as evidence of the country’s leadership.
The aircraft’s inclusion in the arsenal of a European and NATO member is expected to open new opportunities in the future.
Defense exports have seen dramatic growth, rising fortyfold from $248 million in 2002 to $9.87 billion in 2025.
Erdogan also stated that Türkiye has become the EU’s fifth-largest trading partner, with trade volume reaching $232.7 billion in 2025 and exports to the EU climbing to $117 billion.
He stressed that updating the Customs Union with the EU is now inevitable and expressed optimism that negotiations would begin soon.
At the same time, he cautioned against EU protectionist policies, insisting that Türkiye demands respect for the partnership and will take necessary measures to safeguard the competitiveness of its industries.
