Israel kills three Palestinians in new violation of Gaza’s truce
(MENAFN) Three Palestinians were killed on Sunday as Israeli forces carried out gunfire incidents and airstrikes across several areas of the Gaza Strip, despite an ongoing ceasefire.
One Palestinian died after an Israeli drone fired on an area northwest of Rafah in southern Gaza, a location from which Israeli troops had previously withdrawn under the ceasefire agreement, according to medical officials. Another Palestinian was killed while fishing, medical sources said.
Local accounts reported that Israeli naval units opened fire off the shores of Khan Younis and Rafah earlier in the day. In a separate incident on the northwestern edge of Rafah, Israeli forces shot another Palestinian in the head, with medical officials describing his condition as “critical.”
The area where the shooting occurred is also among those evacuated by Israeli forces under the ceasefire terms.
In another case, a 15-year-old boy was killed by Israeli gunfire in the Joura Al-Lout area south of Khan Younis, an area included in the withdrawal zones outlined in the agreement, according to medical sources. Additionally, one Palestinian was wounded in the thigh after Israeli naval fire targeted the coast near Deir al-Balah in central Gaza, as stated by medical officials and eyewitnesses.
Israeli warplanes also conducted multiple airstrikes in areas north and west of Rafah. At the same time, Israeli forces carried out demolitions of residential buildings in eastern Khan Younis, accompanied by artillery shelling of locations that remain under Israeli control according to the agreement.
Separate air raids were also reported in northern Gaza and east of Gaza City. In central Gaza, Israeli military vehicles were reported to have fired indiscriminately toward eastern sections of the Bureij refugee camp.
Since the ceasefire took effect on October 10, Israeli forces have carried out hundreds of violations, resulting in the deaths of 420 Palestinians and injuries to 1,184 others, according to health authorities.
While the ceasefire brought an end to Israel’s two-year military campaign that killed nearly 71,400 Palestinians—most of them women and children—injured more than 171,200 others, and devastated the Gaza Strip, deadly Israeli attacks have continued despite the agreement.
