'Jassi Weds Jassi' Premieres In Dubai To A Packed House

The international premiere of Jassi Weds Jassi took place in Dubai on December 11 at Grand Cineplex, Grand Hyatt Dubai, drawing a lively and diverse audience that reflected the city's multicultural fabric. The screening was well attended by members of Dubai's Indian, Pakistani and Arab communities, setting the tone for a warm and celebratory evening.

Directed by Paran Bawa and produced by Soma Singh Deo and Mazahir Abbas under the banner of Divinity Studios, Jassi Weds Jassi is a light-hearted romantic entertainer set in Haldwani, Uttar Pradesh (now Uttarakhand) in 1996. The film stars Harshvardhan Deo in the lead, alongside an ensemble cast that includes Ranvir Shorey, Sikandar Kher, Sudesh Lahiri, Grusha Kapoor, Manu Rishi Chaddha and Rehmat Rattan.

The story follows Jaspreet, affectionately known as Jassi, a hopeless romantic who believes wholeheartedly in true love. His world turns upside down when he falls for Jasmeet (Rehmat Rattan), only to discover an unexpected complication in the form of another Jassi - Jaswinder (Sikandar Kher). What follows is a spirited mix of romance, confusion and comedy rooted in Punjabi warmth and nostalgia.

Calling the film“pure madness in the best way possible,” director Paran Bawa described it as a celebration of love, emotion and chaotic energy. Producer Mazahir Abbas added that the aim was to create a feel-good, family-friendly film that keeps audiences smiling from beginning to end.

Lead actor Harshvardhan Deo said playing Jassi was an entertaining experience, describing the character as an innocent dreamer driven by love, mischief and charm.

Jassi Weds Jassi is currently running in cinemas across the UAE.
