Bannu Emerges As Most Affected Region As KP Records 1,588 Terror Incidents In 2025

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa witnessed 1,588 terrorism-related incidents during the current year, resulting in the martyrdom of 502 civilians and security personnel, according to a report released by the Central Police Office (CPO).

The report states that 223 civilians were martyred and 570 injured in terror attacks across the province. During the same period, 137 police personnel embraced martyrdom, while 236 others sustained injuries. Additionally, 18 personnel from other law enforcement agencies were also martyred.

According to the CPO, the Federal Constabulary suffered heavy losses, with 124 personnel martyred and 244 injured in various incidents.

Security forces carried out multiple counterterrorism operations during the year, killing 348 militants, the report adds.

Region-wise data shows that Bannu Region remained the most affected, with 394 terrorism cases registered. In these incidents, 41 police personnel were martyred and 89 injured, while 54 civilians lost their lives and 125 were wounded.

In Dera Ismail Khan Region, 152 cases were registered, where 137 terrorists were killed during security operations.

Meanwhile, North Waziristan recorded 181 incidents, resulting in 38 civilian martyrs and 182 injured, whereas South Waziristan reported 103 incidents, with 39 civilians martyred and 86 injured.

The CPO said that security operations are ongoing across the province to improve the law and order situation and to curb militant activities.
