Two Palestinians get murdered by IDF in occupied West Bank

(MENAFN) Two Palestinians lost their lives during Israeli military actions in the occupied West Bank on Sunday, according to official Palestinian statements.

Civil affairs authorities said that a 16-year-old Palestinian, identified as Muhammad Iyad Abahra, was fatally shot late Saturday during an Israeli incursion into the village of Silat al-Harithiya, located west of Jenin. The statement added that Israeli forces have retained his body.

Reports indicated that Israeli troops carried out a raid in the village late Saturday, during which they used live ammunition and stun grenades against residents.

In a separate incident, another Palestinian was killed in the southern West Bank city of Hebron after Israeli forces claimed he attempted to stab soldiers. According to reports, troops shot the man in the head near the northern entrance of Hebron and left him wounded on the ground while preventing medical teams from reaching him. His identity was not disclosed.

According to Palestinian figures, Israeli forces and settlers have killed at least 1,093 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, since October 2023. During the same period, nearly 11,000 people have been injured and approximately 21,000 detained.

Last July, the International Court of Justice issued a landmark opinion declaring Israel’s occupation of Palestinian territory unlawful and calling for the dismantling of all settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
