Ukrainian drone strike kills two in Russia’s Saratov region

(MENAFN) A Ukrainian drone attack on Russia’s Saratov region on Saturday resulted in the deaths of two people and damage to several buildings, regional authorities reported.

Regional governor Roman Busargin stated on Telegram: "As a result of Ukraine's drone attack, an apartment building was damaged. Two people died." He extended condolences to the victims’ families and pledged full support.

The strike also caused damage to a kindergarten and a polyclinic, shattering windows and facades. Fortunately, no children or patients were present at the time, as the incident occurred during the night, Busargin said.

Emergency teams are on site, and a temporary shelter has been established for affected residents.

Those whose properties were damaged will receive financial aid from the regional budget, with administrative staff conducting door-to-door inspections.

Ukraine has not yet responded to Russia’s statements, and independent verification of the incident remains difficult due to the ongoing conflict, now nearing its fourth year.
