Authorities Evacuate House In Northern Shouna
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, Dec. 12 (Petra)-- The security bodies evacuated the residents of a two-story house in Northern Shouna yesterday evening after parts of the structure collapsed amid heavy rainfall, with no injuries reported.
Khaled Al-Khasasbeh, the Governor of the Northern Jordan Valley District, told the Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the evacuation followed an inspection carried out by Civil Defense teams, security agencies, the Mu'ath bin Jabal Municipality, and the Jordan Valley Authority.
Several sections of the home's roof had collapsed, prompting authorities to relocate the six residents to safe housing and provide them with essential living supplies. A number of neighboring homes were also evacuated as a precaution.
He added that debris was cleared by crews and machinery from the relevant authorities to ensure public safety. A technical engineering committee will be formed later to inspect the structure and determine whether it remains suitable for habitation or poses risks that require its full demolition.
