Plant Producing Artillery Shell Casings Is On Fire In Russia's Orsk Social Media


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As reported by Ukrinform, this was announced by the Telegram channel Astra, which geolocated photos and videos of the fire in Orsk, Orenburg region.

The mechanical plant is part of Technodinamika JSC, which is owned by the Russian state corporation Rostec.



According to the company's official brochure, the enterprise produces more than 50% of certain-caliber artillery shell casings manufactured in Russia. In addition, the plant produces components for multiple launch rocket systems.

Residents first reported the fire. Later, the local department of the Ministry of Civil Defence, Emergencies, and Disaster Relief acknowledged the blaze, but did not specify which industrial facility was on fire.

“Firefighting efforts are underway at one of Orsk's industrial sites. Twenty-nine firefighters and nine units of equipment are working at the scene. There are no casualties or injuries. The blaze has not affected the technological process,” the Ministry said.

Artem Vorobyov, the governor of Orsk, has not commented on the fire.

The cause of the large-scale blaze has not been disclosed; according to some reports, an explosion preceded the fire.

As reported by Ukrinform, on the night of 12 December, drones attacked Yaroslavl, northeast of Moscow. The Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery, one of Russia's five largest refineries, was hit in the attack.
