SBU Sentences Official From Temporarily Occupied Lysychansk In Absentia To 10 Years In Prison For Collaboration

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The 3rd Directorate of the SBU in Donetsk and Luhansk regions reported this on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.

"Based on the SBU's investigation, a local collaborator from Lysychansk has been sentenced in absentia to a long prison term. It was documented that immediately after the occupation of the city, she openly supported the aggressor and took the position of 'head' of the fake 'education department' in the local pro-Russian administration," the statement said.

It is noted that until 2022, the woman worked as deputy head of the Lysychansk city education department, but after the occupation of the city, she joined the enemy's administration. She led the full Russification of the city's schools and their transition to Russian educational standards.

The collaborator sent teachers for re-educating to Rostov-on-Don, implemented Russian programs and textbooks, and removed all subjects related to Ukrainian language, history, and culture from the curriculum.

She now facilitates the "integration" of Ukrainian children into the cultural and educational space of the aggressor state and the Russian upbringing system.

The court found her guilty of collaboration (Parts 3 and 5, Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced her to 10 years in prison with confiscation of all property.

As Ukrinform reported, in Mykolaiv, a resident of Kherson who headed an occupation ministry was sentenced to 9 years in prison.
