Govt Implementing Multiple Schemes To Boost Technology Upgradation & Digitalisation For MSME: Mos Karandlaje


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Dec 9 (KNN) The Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) has taken several initiatives aimed at boosting technology adoption, digitalisation, and competitiveness among small enterprises nationwide, said Minister of State for MSMEs, Shobha Karandlaje in written reply to a question in Lok Sabha.

Key Schemes for Modernisation and Skill Development

The Minister said that the government is implementing multiple schemes to support modernisation, skill enhancement, quality improvement, and adoption of advanced and green technologies.

These initiatives include the MSE–Cluster Development Programme (CDC) for setting up Common Facility Centres, Tool Rooms and Technology Centres that offer specialised training, advisory services, and access to advanced machinery, the MSE–Green Investment Financing for Transformation (GIFT) Scheme to promote sustainable practices, and the MSME Champions Scheme aimed at enhancing enterprise competitiveness.

These initiatives collectively aim to strengthen MSMEs' capabilities through shared infrastructure, advanced machinery, and skill development programmes.

Digital Platforms for MSME Support

The Minister highlighted that digital tools are being used to enhance access, market linkages, and grievance redressal for MSMEs.

These include the Udyam Portal for registration, the MSME Champions Portal, the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), the Trade Receivables Discounting System (TReDS), MSME Mart and MSME SAMBANDH, as well as the Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) portal.

These platforms facilitate online registration, e-procurement, receivables financing, market access, and grievance handling.

Expansion of Technology Centres and Export Support

Under the 'Establishment of New Technology Centres/Extension Centres' scheme, 20 new Technology Centres and 100 Extension Centres are being set up, including in aspirational districts Gaya (Bihar) and Bokaro (Jharkhand).

Additionally, 65 Export Facilitation Centres have been established across MSME field offices, Technology Centres, and Testing Centres to mentor and support enterprises seeking to strengthen export capabilities.
