Pre-Summit Forum In Chennai To Set Agenda For Indiaai Impact Summit 2026
The event serves as a key pre-summit forum ahead of the India–AI Impact Summit 2026. It will open with a formal inauguration on December 10, followed by a full-day conclave and a hybrid, closed-door working group meeting on December 11.
The India–AI Impact Summit 2026, being held for the first time in the Global South, is scheduled for February 15–20 at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi.
The Chennai pre-summit will convene senior government officials, industry leaders, academics, and policy experts from India and abroad.
The conclave will focus on strengthening India's approach to ethical, inclusive, and secure AI development.
As AI becomes increasingly embedded in public and private domains, discussions will address concerns related to fairness, accountability, and misuse.
The Safe & Trusted AI Working Group, chaired by Balaraman Ravindran, who also heads the Wadhwani School of Data Science and AI at IIT Madras, aims to advance frameworks that promote transparency, reliability, and public trust.
Through keynotes, panels, and working sessions, the conclave will explore pathways to establish an AI Safety Commons for the Global South.
Insights from these deliberations will shape the agenda of the India–AI Impact Summit 2026, reaffirming India's role in global AI governance.
