Israeli Forces Arrest 40 Palestinians In West Bank Raids
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Jerusalem and Ramallah, Dec. 9 (Petra) – Israeli occupation forces carried out large-scale raids and arrests on Tuesday across several areas in the occupied West Bank.
In a statement, Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said Israeli forces stormed multiple locations in the cities of Hebron, Bethlehem, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, Salfit, and Nablus, arresting 40 Palestinians under the pretext of being wanted, including minors and former detainees.
Also raiding Birzeit University north of Ramallah, occupation forces arrested all campus guards and confiscated their mobile phones, said a statement issued by the university administration.
Meanwhile, dozens of settlers continued storming Al Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem from the Bab Al-Magharibah gate, under heavy protection from Israeli police.
The Jordan-run Islamic Waqf Department in occupied Jerusalem said in a statement that settlers entered the mosque courtyards, conducted provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals in the eastern part of the Al Aqsa Mosque compound.
