Türkiye’s Stock Exchange Opens Wednesday Flat


(MENAFN) Türkiye's flagship equity gauge kicked off Wednesday's session at 11,118.47 points, shedding 0.04%—a decline of 5 points from Tuesday's closing bell, signaling cautious investor sentiment in early morning trade.

The BIST 100 index had climbed 0.06% during Tuesday's trading to settle at 11,123.47 points, recording daily transaction volumes worth 148.5 billion Turkish liras ($3.5 billion) as market participants navigated volatile conditions.

By 9:50 a.m. local time (0650GMT), currency markets showed the lira trading at 42.4565 against the US dollar, 49.4685 versus the euro, and 56.2485 per British pound, reflecting ongoing pressure on the national currency.

Gold prices stood at $4,209.50 per ounce in morning trading, while Brent crude oil changed hands at $62.50 per barrel amid fluctuating global energy demand.
