Illegal Afghan Nationals Behind Recent Attacks, Repatriation Now Essential: Mohsin Naqvi
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that a significant number of recent attacks in Pakistan were carried out by Afghan nationals residing illegally in the country, stressing that their repatriation has become an unavoidable national security requirement.
Speaking to journalists, Naqvi said that Afghans had long been respected guests in Pakistan, but the time had come for them to return to their homeland with dignity.“We expect that they will themselves decide to go back respectfully. Anyone attempting to re-enter Pakistan unlawfully will face the full force of the law,” he warned.
Referring to recent incidents, the interior minister said that the three individuals who attacked the Frontier Corps a few days ago turned out to be Afghan nationals, and the assailant involved in the Islamabad court attack was also an Afghan citizen.“It is clear that Afghan nationals have been linked with several security challenges inside the country. The Afghan Taliban government must effectively restrain violent elements,” he added.

He emphasised that issues of national security should be handled under a unified policy, rising above provincial differences.“National security is a collective responsibility; there can be no room for separate decisions on this matter,” he said.
