Ukrainians who found themselves abroad are particularly vulnerable, as modern technologies and artificial intelligence make it easier for traffickers to operate, the minister said. He added that traffickers often use“fake offers of employment and assistance.”

According to the minister, the Ukrainian delegation informed meeting participants about these risks and about the countermeasures being implemented by the Cabinet of Ministers.

While in New York, Denys Uliutin also held several bilateral meetings, including with the UN Under-Secretary-General and Special Representative on Sexual Violence in Conflict, Pramila Patten. They discussed the implementation of a newly adopted Ukrainian law that strengthens protection for survivors of sexual violence, as well as further improvements to legislation.

In addition, during talks with EU Anti-Trafficking Coordinator Diane Schmitt, the sides discussed cooperation on developing a Register of Intangible Losses, which is being created under the leadership of the Ministry of Social Policy. It will complement the existing Register of Damages caused by Russian aggression, the minister explained.
