Third Ukrainian Citizen Arrested In Poland Over Railway Sabotage Case

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) According to the investigation, he assisted the perpetrators of the sabotage, including by surveying the area and preparing for further sabotage actions, Ukrinform reports, citing the Polish National Prosecutor's Office.

As noted, during the investigation into the acts of sabotage on the railway infrastructure, prosecutors together with police officers from the Central Bureau of Investigation collected evidence indicating that Volodymyr B. helped the direct perpetrators of the sabotage on November 15–16, 2025.

The man was detained by police officers on November 20, 2025 as part of the investigation.

“On November 22, 2025, the prosecutor charged Volodymyr B. with acting for Russian intelligence and providing assistance to the direct perpetrators (Oleksandr K. and Yevhenii I.) in committing acts of sabotage on November 15–16, 2025 in the towns of Mika and Golab,” the statement reads.

The aid allegedly involved logistical support for planning and executing sabotage on railway line No. 7 in eastern Poland.

Collected evidence indicates that in September 2025, Volodymyr B. transported Yevhenii I. to the area of the planned sabotage operations (railway line No. 7 near Mika and Golab), enabling reconnaissance of the area and selection of locations for planting explosives, setting up a recording device, and installing a metal element on the tracks.

After the charges were filed, the prosecutor questioned Volodymyr B. as a suspect. At the prosecutor's request, the court ordered his detention.

According to the prosecutor's office, intensive measures are ongoing to identify all other individuals who may have participated in planning, organizing, or carrying out the above-mentioned acts of sabotage.

The case is being handled by a special group appointed by the Prosecutor General of Poland, which includes prosecutors from the Mazovian branch of the Prosecutor General's Office and officers of the Internal Security Agency and the Central Bureau of Investigation.

Previously, the Polish prosecutor's office charged two Ukrainian citizens, 39-year-old Oleksandr K. and 41-year-old Yevhenii I., with committing sabotage on the railway in Poland.

Polish security services detained four people suspected of involvement in the attacks on the railway, releasing three of them after questioning.
