Erdogan Urges Stronger Global Resolve on Gaza

(MENAFN) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan appealed to the wider international community to adopt a more resolute and coherent approach toward Israel’s conduct in Gaza.

He underscored the importance of intensifying diplomatic pressure and guaranteeing continuous humanitarian access to the enclave.

On his flight back from Johannesburg, South Africa, following the G20 leaders’ summit, Erdogan stressed his view that “if the international community shows a determined, consistent and sanction-capable will, it can stop Netanyahu.”

Addressing Israel’s alleged violations of the Gaza ceasefire, he noted that Hamas “is showing great patience in the face of all these provocations by Israel and is adhering to the ceasefire,” emphasizing that “the full implementation of this ceasefire is essential.”

Regarding broader regional stability, Erdogan cautioned that Ankara would respond forcefully to any threats to its national safety.

He reminded observers of Turkey’s previous actions, stating: “When it comes to our country’s national security, everyone knows what steps we have taken. If we face a similar danger again, we will do what is necessary.”

Erdogan additionally reaffirmed Turkey’s readiness to contribute once more as a facilitator in the Russia–Ukraine dispute.

He highlighted Ankara’s prior involvement by saying: “As Türkiye, just as we played an important role earlier in Istanbul, we are ready today to maintain the same constructive stance.”
