(MENAFN) At least 30 people have died in landslides across two areas of Indonesia’s Central Java province, while rescuers continue searching for 21 missing individuals, local media reported Friday.

In Pandanarum, Banjarnegara regency, media reported that rescue teams confirmed 10 fatalities following the Nov. 15 landslide, with another 18 residents still unaccounted for.

“The search was conducted manually and with the use of sniffer dogs,” the outlet reported, noting that 17 pieces of heavy machinery were deployed to remove soil that had buried dozens of homes.

In Majenang district, Cilacap regency, Merah Putih news reported that search teams recovered 20 bodies, with three people still missing after last week’s landslide.

“We are making every effort to find the three victims who are still being searched for,” said National Search and Rescue Agency Chief Air Marshal Mohammad Syafii.

Meanwhile, severe monsoon-driven flooding struck southern Thailand, affecting 159 villages and 17,000 households in Songkhla province on Friday, Matichon reported.

The floodwaters impacted 44,958 residents, though no deaths or injuries have been recorded. Seven districts have been officially declared emergency disaster zones, the outlet added.
