BIST 100 Gains 0.7 Percent as Trading Activity Picks Up
(MENAFN) Türkiye's leading stock index concluded Thursday at 10,979.73 points, marking a 0.7% rise.
The Borsa Istanbul's BIST 100 index opened the day at 10,959.01 points and advanced by 75.82 points compared to Wednesday's close.
During the session, the index hit a low of 10,887.04 points and reached a peak of 11,038.75 points.
The total market capitalization of the BIST 100 stood at roughly 10.27 trillion Turkish liras ($243 billion), with daily trading volume totaling 125.5 billion liras ($2.96 billion).
Out of the listed stocks on the index, 60 recorded gains while 36 saw declines relative to the prior close.
Gold was valued at $4,098.40 per ounce, and Brent crude oil traded at $63.80 per barrel as of 6.28 pm local time (1528GMT).
Meanwhile, the US dollar/Turkish lira rate was 42.3705, the euro/Turkish lira rate 48.9740, and the British pound exchanged for 55.6365 liras.
