World Children's Day: Sharjah Sustainable City Collaborates With Cuddle Family To Enrich Children's Eco-Learning

(MENAFN- Mid-East Info) Sharjah, UAE;November 2025: In celebration of World Children's Day, Sharjah Sustainable City, the first sustainable master-planned residential community developed by the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) in partnership with Diamond Developers, collaborated with Cuddle Family to host a special workshop for community's young residents.

The educational workshop featured creative sessions with Cuddle Family, a UAE-based publishing house specializing in children's literature. During the workshop, the children transformed recyclable materials into art and learned about the importance of caring for the environment.

The main aim was to engage children and enhance their understanding of sustainability, showing them how they can contribute in simple yet meaningful ways while keeping the experience fun and interactive. The initiative aligned with Shurooq Real Estate's efforts to create inspiring and enriching environments within residential communities such as Sharjah Sustainable City, supporting children's growth and sparking their imagination.

Commenting on this occasion, Carl Atallah, Director of Marketing & Communications-Real Estate, Shurooq, said:“At Sharjah Sustainable City, we believe education is the most powerful resource we have, and we are committed to creating an environment where everyone learns about environmental protection and how they can do their part. On this World Children's Day, we were happy to team up with Cuddle Family to turn our community into a playful classroom, where learning about sustainability becomes artistic, interactive, and fun. This event was part of our broader efforts to share knowledge with all our residents, irrespective of age group. By putting fun, curiosity, and creativity at the heart of this workshop, we nurture eco-literate kids who will grow into confident problem solvers and thoughtful citizens”

Yuser AlAbbychi, CEO & Creative Director at Cuddle Family, said:“World Children's Day is our favorite reminder that learning should feel like play. Together with Sharjah Sustainable City, we were delighted to let children use their imagination and turn stories and scraps into something magical. At Cuddle Family, we believe creativity is a child's first toolkit. When kids read, imagine, and create with their hands, they don't just craft art; they build habits of caring for one another and for the planet. This workshop wraps sustainability in wonder, proving that the brightest lessons are the ones learned with laughter, gluey fingers, and wide-open imaginations.”

The event was part of a wider program led by Sharjah Sustainable City, which includes regular sustainability related workshops and community activities for residents. It reflects the city's broader commitment to community wellbeing and the Sustainable Development Goals, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production), and SDG 13 (Climate Action). As the city continues to inspire young minds, today's giggles and glue sticks become the building blocks of tomorrow's greener communities.
