5.7-Magnitude Earthquake Strikes Bangladesh
Dhaka: A 5.7-magnitude earthquake struck Bangladesh on Friday, with no immediate reports of casualties or damage.
According to the US Geological Survey (USGS), the epicenter was located in Narsingdi, about 40 kilometers from the capital, Dhaka.
The German Research Centre for Geosciences (GFZ) reported that the quake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers.
Eyewitnesses said residents rushed out of homes and buildings in Dhaka as tremors were felt across the city.
Last October, a 3.4-magnitude earthquake struck Bangladesh, also without causing injuries or damage.
