Matthew Pound
- Associate Professor in Physical Geography, Northumbria University, Newcastle
I am a palynologist who uses pollen and spores to answer questions relating to modern and ancient environmental change. I'm primarily interested in how what the climate of the past was, how it changed and what this can tell us about the coming century. I am a Fellow of the Geological Society, London and President-elect of AASP - The Palynology Society. I obtained my PhD in 2013 from the University of Leeds on the topic of middle to late Miocene biota and climate.
Experience- 2016–present Senior lecturer, Northumbria University
