Computer-Generated Prescriptions Launched In Herat
HEART CITY (Pajhwok): Local officials say from now on, the prescriptions in all hospitals and clinics will be computerized in western Herat province following an important step by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH).
Mohammad Yousuf Saeedi, the spokesman for the Herat Governor's Office, stated that this initiative is aimed at improving the accuracy of patient data registration and management.
The use of electronic prescriptions will make prescriptions clearer, more traceable, and with minimal errors.
According to him, several hospitals have already started the process of electronic prescriptions in the province, and it will be implemented in all hospitals in Herat as a serious measure.
Residents of Herat have welcomed this initiative from the MoPH, saying that this will reduce financial misuse in some hospitals and health centers.
This comes at a time when the MoPH recently announced that, in response to public demands and to reform the system, it has established a special committee to prevent the issuing of illegible prescriptions across the country.
Earlier, Sharafat Zaman Amarkhel, spokesman for the MoPH, wrote on his X that this year the committee would work on methods to prevent illegible prescriptions.
