Kashmir Doctor Awarded Prestigious Fellowship At NAPCON

Srinagar- Dr. Rafi Ahmed Jan has become the first doctor from Jammu and Kashmir to be awarded the Fellowship of the Indian Society of Chest Physicians. The honour was conferred during the National Conference on Pulmonary Diseases (NAPCON) held in Jaipur.
The recognition brings national attention to both Dr. Jan and the Department of Respiratory Medicine at Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag, where he currently serves as Professor. Dr. Jan has worked in pulmonary medicine for over two decades and previously headed the Department of Internal and Pulmonary Medicine at SKIMS, Soura.
Last year, he became the first doctor from Kashmir to receive a fellowship from the Indian Association for Bronchology. His work spans interventional pulmonology, including procedures such as bronchoscopy, airway stenting and pleural interventions. He has also been involved in research, training programmes and professional medical societies in the region.
