Rail Sabotage Will Not Affect Poland's Support For Ukraine Polish Foreign Ministry

(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Polish Foreign Ministry spokesman Maciej Wewior said this in a comment to Ukrinform.

"Our support for Ukraine, which is defending itself, is unequivocal," he stated when asked whether recent acts of sabotage on Polish railways could influence future assistance for Ukraine.

He stressed that he would not comment on who might be behind these sabotage incidents until more information is available, noting that one can only speculate about the possible culprits.

"Regardless of who is behind this, our support for Ukraine, which is fighting, is beyond dispute. It is in the interest of our neighbor, Ukraine, but also in the interest of Poland and, ultimately, all of Europe," Wewior said, adding that these events "will not affect Poland's support for Ukraine."

Earlier reports said that explosive devices were placed on a railway segment between Warsaw and Lublin, damaging a section of track. Damage was also recorded in another location near Lublin.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk noted that the Warsaw-Lublin railway line where the sabotage occurred is of strategic importance for delivering aid to Ukraine.
