Trump Demands NBC to Terminate Seth Meyers
(MENAFN) US President Donald Trump has urged NBC to dismiss late-night host Seth Meyers after the progressive comedian criticized him on air.
During the most recent episode of Late Night with Seth Meyers, which aired Thursday, Meyers described Trump as “the most unpopular president of all time.”
He referenced a poll indicating the president’s approval rating had dropped to just 33%, a decline of 10% since March.
Meyers suggested that “a sizable portion” of Trump’s Republican supporters have grown “frustrated” with him, citing the president’s support for H1-B visas for foreign workers in a recent interview on Fox News and his hesitation to fulfill his pledge to release the Epstein files.
In response, Trump criticized the NBC host on his Truth Social account Sunday, accusing Meyers of “suffering from an incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome (TDS).” He added that Meyers was “in an uncontrollable rage, likely due to the fact that his ‘show’ is a Ratings DISASTER.”
Trump further asserted, “Aside from everything else, Meyers has no talent, and NBC should fire him, IMMEDIATELY!”
This is not the first time Trump has targeted late-night comedians who have mocked him. In June, he celebrated the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show on CBS and suggested that Jimmy Kimmel of ABC and Jimmy Fallon of NBC should be next.
Kimmel’s program was suspended in September after FCC chairman Brendan Carr warned that ABC could risk losing its license over Kimmel’s remarks regarding the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk earlier that month.
Kimmel had criticized Trump for a perceived lack of empathy and accused Republicans of exploiting Kirk’s death to “score political points.”
